Young people making their way in the art and antiques business will be the main focus of this year’s ‘National Antiques Week’ (April 20-28).
The event will culminate in the presentation
of The Young Guns of the Antiques Trade Award followed by a
celebration party at the Decorative Antiques and Textiles
Fair in Battersea on April 25.
Entries are invited from Young Guns between
the ages of 15 and 39 who can demonstrate a real and heartfelt
commitment to the industry with the confidence to encourage other
young people to join the trade and visit antique shops.
It is simple to enter online at www.nationalantiquesweek.co.uk. The judges are
looking for the most endearing and inspiring story.
Entries must be in by January 31.
The winner and two runners-up will receive an impressive package
of prizes and there will be a chance for all entrants to display
items for sale in the foyer of the Decorative Fair as part of an
exhibition - Young Guns, The Future of the Antiques
Trade, curated by Mark Hill.
