Michael Brennan, 23, had lured Paul Simons to a flat in Moulsham Street, Chelmsford, on May 4, where he stabbed him to death. Brennan had been found guilty of murdering the 54-year-old, of Bushey in Hertfordshire, at Chelmsford Crown Court on December 3 after a ten-day trial.
He had admitted killing him but denied murder. He was sentenced two days later.
Mr Simons was a dealer in antique silver at the London Silver Vaults.
