Several items stolen from Derby Museum and Art Gallery’s storage facility have been recovered and two arrests have been made.
They were found after a dealer in Birmingham
called Derbyshire police following publicity surrounding the
incident, when 1000 items including coins, medals and watches worth
about £53,000 were taken sometime between May 2 and June 19.
Two men - aged 27 and 29, from Spondon, near Derby - have been
arrested on suspicion of burglary. They were interviewed and
released on bail pending further inquiries.
