Dealers stage joint clock show

29 October 2012Written by ATG Reporter

This Shibyama decorated ivory timepiece is a highlight of Derek Roberts Antiques’ and Patric Capon Fine Antique Clocks’ joint exhibition of carriage and other travelling clocks from October 29 to November 3 at 25 Shipbourne Road in Tonbridge, Kent.

The c.1900 carriage clock by London makers W. Thornhill & Co, priced at £8000, is one of over 60 clocks in the exhibition; the first time that Derek Roberts' annual exhibition has been held with another dealer.

Paul Archard of Derek Roberts said: "This means that we can pool our expertise and also display a larger selection of fine clocks than we could have done individually."

The show mixes English clocks by the likes of Dent, Frodsham, McCabe and Thomas Cole with French and Swiss productions.
