Welsh international football cap from 1893-94 season

This Football Association of Wales 1893-94 Season green velvet cap with braided gilt wire tassel and embroidered dragon, will appear in the November 21 sale at Halls of Shrewsbury.

It was awarded to forward Edwin James 1869-1958, who won eight caps for Wales alongside a 20-year career playing for Chirk. He was already part of the Chirk team when the young Billy Meredith joined. James won Welsh Cup Winners medals in 1892, 1893 and 1894.
