This Lalique car mascot has been consigned to the Tennants of Leyburn sale on November 16-17 by the great-niece of the chauffeur of the car on which it was originally mounted.
She was given the 10in (26cm) long
Victoire No.1147, in clear and frosted glass on a chromium-plated
metal mount, by the owner, Sir Thomas Willans Nussey, 1st Baronet
(1868-1947) of Rushwood Hall, East Tanfield, North Yorkshire.
It is stamped for the Breves Galleries of
Knightsbridge and the patent number 309301.
