GRAY’S dealers hoping for some let-up in the disruption to the surrounding area have learnt that Crossrail have applied for the continued closure of the street that runs parallel to the central London antiques centre.
It was hoped that Davies Street would reopen
to traffic in the middle of this year, but Crossrail's application,

Both dealers and the centre's management have made it clear they
oppose the extended closure, but it seems likely that approval will
be granted by the local authority since Crossrail are following
procedures already outlined in their development plans.
