Jacobs & Hunt of Petersfield, in association with consultant John Cameron, will offer the collection of the late record-breaking aviator Peter Twiss at auction on June 22.
Twiss became famous in 1956 when he smashed
the air speed record by 300mph in a Fairey Delta 2 jet.
Included are Twiss's leather flying helmet
with Perspex visor (shown here), two pairs of leather flying
goggles, a leather briefcase and two leather and canvas RAF
briefcases, each bearing the Peter Twiss monogram. Estimate:
£400-£500.
