THE Design and Artists Copyright Society (DACS) have announced that they will hand back undistributed Resale Right royalties after six years.
However, they say that they will still
charge the 15% administration fee, despite not successfully passing
on the royalty to the relevant artist.
In addition, it is understood that DACS will
keep any interest earned on the money while it has been in their
possession over the six-year period.
DACS say they will be expanding their team in order to trace
more qualifying artists and are receiving training from experts in
tracing missing heirs and beneficiaries.
