It was the Islas Malvinas - the Argentinian name for the islands - and the name board, taken as a battle trophy 30 years ago, will be offered at Bonhams' next sale of antique arms and militaria in Oxford on April 24.

It is made up of heavy gauge brass letters mounted on an oak board 3ft 3in (1m) long, and is estimated at £2000-3000.

She was captured by HMS Cardiff on June 14, 1982, taken into service and renamed HMS Tiger Bay after the Cardiff area, appropriately. The boat was stationed in Portsmouth until sold to a private owner in 1986.
