THE Antiquarian Booksellers’ Association (ABA) has held its first ever contested election for the posts of president and vice president in its 105-year history.
It was a decisive victory for incoming president Laurence Worms (Ash Rare Books) and for Brian Lake (Jarndyce) who becomes vice president.
Mr Worms said: "The ABA simply has to move forward into the 21st century or cease to exist. I'm delighted to have secured a clear mandate for change. Our immediate priority is to ensure the success of our flagship antiquarian bookfair at Olympia (June 9-11)."
