THE October 8 toy sale at Nagel in Stuttgart will include this Märklin gauge-1 model of the Stuttgart train station.
Measuring 3ft 10in (1.16m), it is a topical entry as protestors
fight to preserve the landmark building in Germany, a 1928
modernist classic designed by Paul Bonatz (1877-1956).
As part of a regeneration project for Stuttgart, architects
propose, among other things, to tear down the side wings of the
train station.
The estimate for this remarkably accurate tinplate model is
€2500.
