Memories of Newark fair at 25

23 August 2010Written by ATG Reporter

INTERNATIONAL Antiques & Collectors Fairs Ltd (IACF) plan to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their flagship event, the Newark International Antiques & Collectors Fair, in October.

To mark the quarter century of the fair launched by the Whitaker family in 1985, the current organizers are encouraging dealers both past and present to come forward with their memories, stories and photos of those very first events.

Additional plans to mark the occasion at the October 7-8 fair are still under discussion.

Rachel Everett, operations manager at IACF said: "25 years have flown by and - from relatively humble beginnings to a globally-renowned antiques trading forum - the Newark fair has come such a long way." We look forward to celebrating this journey in October. To do so, we would like to hear from stallholders and buyers who were there at the beginning. We want to share in their memories of how it all started."

Contact 01636 702326 or send photos and stories via enquiries@iacf.co.uk.

• MEANWHILE, following the success of the two pilot one-day events in June and August this year at Newbury Racecourse in Berkshire, IACF Ltd have announced an extra date for October 18.
