Gildings launch in Leicester

09 August 2010Written by ATG Reporter

THE family firm of Gildings Auctioneers, established since 1987 in Market Harborough, are to open additional premises on the edge of Leicester.

The new saleroom at 63 Morris Road, Leicester, LE2 6BR will open from September 7 for fortnightly sales of Victorian to modern furnishings and collectables.

Leicester has been without an auction house since Heathcote Ball closed following the tragic death of John Ball in a horse riding accident in 2002.

The two Gildings salerooms will continue to be run by current staff, with James Gilding becoming saleroom manager in Leicester assisted by Michael Mays. John and Mark Gilding will be based in Market Harborough.
