The items concerned may have been included in historic Trusts and would therefore have been excluded from the terms of Lady Wentworth’s will on which the vendor’s title is based.
The complexities surrounding their status have proved impossible to resolve in such a short period and so the withdrawal was the only option.
The lots have now been removed from the online catalogue, which can be viewed at the-saleroom.com. The following are the withdrawn lots:

Apologising for the late change, specialist Andrew Thomas said: “A clear assurance has been given that there is no dispute concerning the vendor’s entitlement to sell the remaining items.”
