30th anniversary? – It must be a record

27 February 2007Written by ATG Reporter

BRIGHTON-based Geoff Rush runs Vinylman, the pomotions company which organises the Brighton Record Fair.

He said: “We hold six a year and at the fair on Sunday, March 4 we will be celebrating our 30th anniversary, as is the Brighton Centre where we hold the fairs. So the stands are down from £45 to £10 and they’re free to registered charities and official fan clubs. We’ve got 200 dealers there on March 4.”

Geoff, whose musical loves include old blues recordings and Bob Dylan, sets a dateline at his record fairs of 1950 to the present. “There will also be a big exhibition of Rolling Stones memorabilia from one of the largest private collections in Europe,” he added.

One of the standholders at the fair will be David Sallis, also from Brighton, who is a Beatles memorabilia specialist. On behalf of Gorringes Lewes rooms, David will be giving valuations on pop and entertainment memorabilia at the fair prior to organising the auctioneers’ first Entertainment Sale on June 13.

Telephone Vinylman on 01273 553966; David Sallis on 01273 540864; and Nick Muston at Gorringes on 01273 472503.
