New salerooms for auctions in Scotland and Devon

05 February 2007Written by ATG Reporter

THOMSON Roddick Scottish Auctions have relocated to a new modern saleroom in Dumfries after holding auctions in Annan for over 100 years and also at the Easterbrook Hall.

The auction centre is located at Irongray Road, Dumfries just off the A76 and one mile from the town centre.

This modern building will have easier access and allow for faster turnover for vendors, increased viewing times, and upgraded computer links.

The inaugural antique sale was held on January 30 and included a group of miniatures, one depicting an officer of the 9th Lancers c1820, probably a member of the Graham family painted by Walter Stephens Lethbridge, that made £8800.

As well as antiques and works of art, they have a planned programme of fortnightly sales of general furniture and effects starting on the February 6.

Tel: 01387 721635.

• Tiverton auctioneers Chilcotts will be holding all future sales in their own premises, The Chilcott School Saleroom, St Peter Street, Tiverton, Devon and have increased the number of sales from four to six per year. The next sale is on Tuesday, February 6 at 12 noon.

Telephone Duncan Chilcott on 01884 250020.
