New owners at Penkridge Salerooms

28 August 2007Written by ATG Reporter

As of September 1, the Penkridge Salerooms come under new ownership.

Long-standing employee Ben Gamble – who has worked for the Staffordshire auction house in its various incarnations for over 15 years – has bought the business from Richard Winterton and will call the new business Cuttlestones.

The name refers to Saxon times when counties were divided into Hundreds and Penkridge was at the centre of the Cuttlestone Hundred.

General sales will continue to be held at Pinfold Lane, Penkridge every Wednesday with periodic antique sales, the next scheduled for October 15.

Richard Winterton retains salerooms in Burton-on-Trent and Lichfield.
