Fair manager Tiffany Pritchard insists the change benefits exhibitors and visitors, and says: “For the past few years the November fair has coincided with several very popular NEC events, notably the BBC Good Food Show, which has caused visitor and exhibitor congestion around the NEC complex.” It is worth noting, however, that Clarion have previously cited a spillover from the food fair as a distinct advantage to the antiques fixture.
The change does mean the winter fair can return to Halls 17-19 where the spring and summer fairs take place, and thus retain a familiar floor-plan, but it also brings the event closer to the Winter Olympia, which this year runs from November 12 to 18.
NEC to change winter slot
THE winter Antiques For Everyone fair at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre has been brought forward a month to November 1 to 4 from November 29 to December 2.
