A set of 38 individual original metal printing plates used for the illustrations for John Lennon’s first book, are to go under the hammer on December 2 at Dickins of Middle Claydon, Bucks.
In His Own Write was first published in March 1964 at the height of Beatlemania and ran to nine editions.
The plates – bought by the local consignor from a Beatles museum in Denmark that closed around five years ago – are to be sold as one lot. They are expected to bring £8000-12,000.
