18 October 2005Written by ATG Reporter

London coin and stamp specialists Spink have been awarded an additional Royal Warrant for their services in philately.

In September, Spink were officially appointed Medallists and Philatelists to Her Majesty The Queen.
The appointment comes more than a century after Spink and Son were honoured with their first Royal Warrant as Medallists to Queen Victoria in 1900.

Throughout six successive reigns, the company have accepted commissions to design and manufacture medals, orders and decorations and state gifts from nations within the Commonwealth.

Spink have had a very close working relationship with the Royal Philatelic Collection over the years and in 2001 auctioned duplicate stamps and covers from the Royal Collection in a landmark sale in London.
