As reported in ATG No 1687, April 30, the organisers had decided to drop Sunday because they had become slow after Newark changed their dates. With a three-day gap between the two rival fairs, there was little to keep standholders in Nottinghamshire. Now Swallow say they have had further talks with standholders and decided to reinstate Sunday trading, with the July event running from the 29th to the 31st.
“Arthur Swallow Fairs have listened to the comments from their stallholders at the June fair and would like to announce Swinderby as a three-day event from July onwards,” said the organisers. “We would like to ask all stallholders to refrain from packing up their stands on a Sunday until 4pm.”

Swinderby returns to three days
ARTHUR Swallow Fairs are to return to a three-day Swinderby fair from July – only weeks after cutting it to two in a move they said stallholders welcomed.
