It is still not clear how many items have been affected but the auctioneers say they will continue with the sale. Coys’ director Douglas Jameson confirmed that all items were fully insured. Loss Adjusters Cunningham and Lindsey have been appointed to assess the full extent of the damage.
The fire was blamed on a bonfire at a nearby house which accidentally spread and set light to a fence at the back of the warehouse where Coys rent a unit.
Mr Jameson said he thought that Coys’ loss was “not substantial”.
