TO celebrate the National Art Collection Fund’s centenary, the National Film Theatre in London is to host a six-week season of films this autumn about art and artists.

Focusing on the lives of real artists from different centuries around the world, it will include well-known classics and specialist art-house movies.

Films featured will include great classics such as Korda’s Oscar-winning Rembrandt with Charles Laughton, Minnelli’s Lust for Life with Kirk Douglas as Van Gogh, together with more recent films such as Derek Jarman’s Caravaggio and the recently released Frida and Chihwaseon (Painted Fire).
