The Antiques Trade Gazette burst on to the vibrant antiques and art scene in 1971 and hasn't looked back. As part of the Gazette's evolution across print, online and mobile platforms, we are looking for a digital-savvy reporter with a passion for all things art and antiques.

It's a stimulating role requiring excellent writing skills, a proactive approach to building contacts and sourcing stories as well as reporting on the industry's jam-packed events calendar. Trainee auctioneer/ Saleroom assistant
An opportunity has arisen for an ambitious young person to work as part of a team within a South Yorkshire auction room. Hours 9am to 5pm weekly and will include every other Sunday.Start salary is minimum wage rising after a short trial period.  The candidate must be strong and fi t as the position will involve lifting and carrying. Computer skills are vital and an interest in antiques would be an advantage; duties will include learning the art of valuation whilst acting as auction room porter, various administration duties and dealing on a day to day basis with the general public, some general cleaning duties to keep the workplace safe and tidy and eventually training as an auctioneer.
Applicants should have a positive outlook, be clean and tidy in appearance and polite. Good timekeeping is essential.
