business while also cataloguing, researching and helping to

the Books and Manuscripts department. Reporting to the Department

sales, undertake lectures and other promotional activities to raise
the profile of the department and work on the preparation of major
valuations. You will also be involved in all aspects of the
production of sale catalogues as well as assisting in the general
day-to-day running of the department.
Educated preferably to degree level, you will have specialist
knowledge of cartography, travel and plate books, and natural
history books. It would also be an advantage if you were familiar
with nineteenth-century photography and the antiquarian book trade,
the commercial art world or auction houses in general. Organised,
flexible and able to work well under pressure, you will be equally
comfortable operating alone or as part of a team and be prepared to
work extended hours at deadlines and to travel in the UK and

A position for a Part-Time Jewellery Specialist has arisen in
Bonhams Chester and Manchester offices. You will be based at the
Chester offi ce and work as an integral part of the valuation
team, reporting to the Regional Director. With the overall aim
of expanding the presence of the office's Jewellery Department
within Cheshire and surrounding counties, responsibilities
will include, but not be limited to, sourcing jewellery for
sale in our London salerooms; and carrying out valuations to
a high professional standard at the offi ces, on Valuation
days within the region and in clients' homes, as appropriate,
for auction, probate and insurance purposes.
With a proven knowledge of the auction business, and at
least three years experience in the field of jewellery
valuation within the fine art auction world. You will have
